In 1955, the Reverend Robert Schuller and his wife, Arvella, arrived in California with $500, a second-hand organ and a dream to share the message of The Reformed Church of America. In 1980, Reverend Schuller dedicated the first all-glass church in the world "To the Glory of Man and for the Greater Glory of God." Designed by the famed New York architect, Philip Johnson, the Cathedral heralds a new era of church design.
